Vintage Dress Code

There’s nothing I love more than actually putting on a dress that had been in my closet for years, unused. Yet, a vintage dress code is never on my radar.

A couple (or more) years ago, a cousin of mine sent me a white delicately designed beaded dress with crystal fringes, all the way from Canada. I was never completely at ease with the details of the dress, which I always found beautiful, but never dared to wear. The dress is very very vintage, and the details exceed anything else I have in my simple wardrobe.

This summer, I decided to finally man up and wear the dress at least once in its closet lifetime! So for a wedding I had no time to glam up for, I pulled it along with lace printed pumps and a skull detailed fringed clutch to match the dress’ fringes.

I am not an expert on vintage styles, but I wanted to keep the look as simple as possible, so I went for super sleek hairstyle and makeup.

You must be wondering about the point of this article, as I am not sharing styling advice nor particular brands. Well, all I wanted to tell you, is that I finally dared to wear the dress! And that I want you to do the same with this one piece in your closet that you keep admiring but never really wear, because you think it’s too much, or not completely you.

Dare to wear, at least once…

    1. Thank you Lynn!

I am at this level of life when hours in front of the mirror are no longer practical ! So simplicity is key!
