Active travelling is definitely my thing.
I am not one who likes to go all the way to a different country so that I spend my time from one restaurant to another, chill at the hotel or do bar hopping.
Of course, since I like to chase summer, I spend a lot of hours on the beach or on the pool soaking overdoses of sun; I am also a fan of the nightlife so I also do not miss on that. But at the same time, I like to discover the city I am in, practice some extreme or outdoorsy sports that allow me to have fun and discover the beautiful nature around me, and visit some cultural and historical sites.
Active travelling, my friends, is a very important form of travelling; because it is way more enjoyable than any other form of travelling. There’s nothing like going back home totally spent, and having had a few firsts!!
I went to Marmaris – Turkey, a couple of weeks ago, for about 8 days; and since Turkeys Aegean coast is known for its beautiful nature; I made it a point to make my trip as active as possible.
Over the week I spent in Marmaris, I went sailing a couple of times, islands discovery, scuba diving, rafting, off-roading, and horseback riding in the forest. Of course, that doesn’t mean I didn’t take the first day and the last one to enjoy my beautiful 5 Stars Boutique Hotel and the beach strip under it; not that I missed on the vibrant nightlife at the marina. But being so active made my trip worth it (and probably less fattening). My days were divided between outdoorsy activities by day and then shopping and chilling in different places at night. I didn’t have a single break, and totally loved it.
What do you think of active travelling?? Drop me your thoughts as you watch some of the pictures from my trip.
