Lebanon is a country which heart is alive and beating no matter what kind of regional muds is the Middle East swimming in. The truth is, this country never sinks and never stops being the it place to be during summer; and the Jounieh fireworks are there to show you we are happy despite it all.
This year, I had the luxury to watch the awesome Jounieh bay fireworks from the Monte Cassino rooftop. But wait, did I tell you about the Monte Cassino??
A couple of weeks back, I received an invitation to be one the very first people to ever stay in Monte Cassino; the luxury boutique hotel located behind the iconic Casino Du Liban. With a classic very “French Riviera” outside and a sleek and chic modern interior; the small hotel is a true gem behind one of the most frequented spots in Lebanon; located very strategically I must say.
The program for us guests started with an exquisit dinner at the x restaurant where the food was truly impressive from the starters up to the desserts (allow me to say that the Pain Perdu was something else). Salmon is the test for the finest restaurant; and it was perfect, that’s how I know you’re up for a great culinary experience at Tulip Restaurant and Lounge.
Party time it was! By the time the Festival of Jounieh was going to launch through the yearly fireworks of the Jounieh Bay; we were up on the rooftop poolside bar “Sway Rooftop & Lounge”; a wooden installation with a full Jounieh Bay view and by a panoramic pool!! With great music, drinks, plenty of champagne and the greatest view you can have outside of Beirut, we partied the night away.
Past 2, it was time to get back to our suites; simple and very modern everything about them was very luxurious, from the New Yorkan simplicity to the bay view from the windows. I particularly loved the way rooms are fully open, well lit and the way they were simply yet luxuriously furnished. Waking up to sunlight and the bay view was just perfect. Made only more perfect when I went down the lobby for a delicious continental breakfast also by the bay view just from another angle.
Having to leave Monte Cassino for a wedding I had to attend had to pass by a definite rain check very very soon.
I loved this luxury boutique hotel; a very unique French Riviera ambiance right by the Jounieh Bay and a walk from our Casino Du Liban; but what is a review if you do not try for yourselves??
