Big lips! Something we don’t all have and definitely something we all want! Time to teach you about how to plump your lips!
I think the best way to enhance my lips is through makeup, since going under the knife is definitely NOT an option (I am a big supporter of natural beauty)! And since I’ve always wished for bigger lips; I’ve developed some skills in how to plump your lips through makeup, which I will be sharing in this post.
In the below display, I will be going step by step through the process of how to plump your lips through makeup using some pictures I’ve taken; I do not have specific product recommendations but I have some characteristics that should apply on the products used. So let’s read on.
Step 1: Erase the natural line of your lips and smudge it with the rest of its surrounding using a high coverage foundation, preferably a liquid foundation. Make sure you apply foundation lightly so it doesn’t cake up.
Step 2: Use some transparent loose powder in order to suck the moisture out of the layer of foundation and fix it in place; it will also help evening the color and keeping the next layers in place.
Step 3: Draw the new lip line right above and below your natural line and make sure it is not too thick. Do not overdo it with trying to go way beyond your natural shape because it will look fake and out of place. A couple millimeters above your natural line, using a dry lip shaper is more than enough.
Step 4: Use the edge of your lipstick (or a thin brush) to cover the liner’s traces on your lips. Do not skip this step even if you have a 100% color match between the lip liner and lipstick; often, the difference in texture causes some difference in color which you’ll need to fix.
Step 5: Work your way in from the edge of the new lip line towards the center of the lips, adding as much layers as you like; though I do not recommend you go thicker than two layers. Remove the excesses by pressing your lips against a tissue.
Step 6: Finish off by adding some shimmery lipgloss at the center of the lips to create the illusion of additional volume.
And a final thought on makeup …
Enjoy your new “bigger” luscious lips!!
