I do, I tend to buy the same item in different colors when the cut suits me and turns out comfortable. I buy the same item in different colors also out of anxiety of never finding the same cut again. It may not be the most fashionable thing to do, but it certainly makes my life easier; especially when it is an item that can be easily styled.
Acquiring more easy-to-style items in different colors in a matter of practicality. It might not serve the diversity aspect of your closet; but it will definitely come in handy when you least expect it, usually when you are short on time. In general, these are the same items I buy in different colors: leggings, jeggings, denim jeans, basic tops, lace tops and some very basic blazers.
This is one of the outfits styling an animal print legging I got in 2 different colors from Topshop, the second color is the one in this outfit (catch the other outfit here). At that, the heels I picked with this outfit are also from Topshop and are very versatile.
The twist this time is that I introduced a third color, nude, to the mix instead of sticking to color gradations that are all present in the print the way I did in the previous outfit. Another twist is that I tried 2 shades of white on top of each other; I wasn’t sure of how it will turn to be, but it went well.
My Advice: It is not un-fashionable to follow some practical fashion advice. Everyone is short on time and if a certain piece of clothing looks really good on you and tends to be quite versatile. I highly recommend you buy more than one color, especially if it is a basic item.
