It is the age of pictures: We are spending considerable amounts of time, taking editing and uploading our pictures to different social media channels; and even more time checking out what others just uploaded on Facebook, Instagram and other channels, in real time. And the more one is involved in fashion, lifestyle or luxury industries; the more pictures become at the center stage of everything.
Being camera ready then, is an important skill nowadays; because even if you are not planning to take any photos, you can’t avoid the digital lenses of your entourage.
I will teach you here how to be camera ready, all the time:
-Make sure you have at least one hair accessory handy; in case you were having a bad hair day, a messy bun with a butterfly pin or a head band can save your photos.
-Big sunglasses are one good way to hide a tired face by day.
-Nothing kills a picture more than a shiny face; so make sure you always have your blotting sheets or matte loose powder handy.
-Make sure your hand nails are always done, nothing looks less elegant than undone nails in pictures. When you have no time at all, at least apply a coat of shine to your nails.
-In case you have a few minutes to apply an express makeup, use these products: a concealer, a medium coverage compact powder, a bronzer, a dramatic effect mascara and a tinted lip balm.
-Make sure you know your good angle; for instance, I always look better when the picture is taken from my right side.
-If you are unsure of your outfit, or afraid of looking thick in pictures, always give the lens your 3/4 angle. This way you will look a little thinner anyway.
-When all else fails, give the camera your widest and brightest smile.
